I may have a good deal, and I might not. Anyone care to share their thoughts on buying this? I have no idea what maintenance has been done, and probably won't, beyond the Lexus driver's data (if I can get the website to work).

2006 Lexus Gx470

Big difference between 200k miles and 300k miles, so it would be good to know how many miles it actually has. Being a Texas truck, the dash could be cracked up. The truck looks good in the photos but the ad really doesn't contain that much useful data. He basically told us all the features of the GX, which we already knew. My cynical nature says that there is something he is not telling us, based on his behavior of not listing the miles, including too many photos of the rear seat and none of the instrument cluster or driver seat, and pricing it so far below book.

I'd look at it, but with a very cautious eye. At 200k+ miles, maintenance and service history are critical. I'd get the whole story before getting too excited about it. Best case scenario, you'd still plan on doing a lot of baseline maintenance and should keep a reserve of cash for repairs. I'd buy a 200k mile Lexus but only with a pre-purchase inspection.

Thanks for the input

Drivers seat probably cracked given there's no pictures of it.

Been lurking for a while, but this is my first post I believe. Personally, I'd approach the vehicle in the CL ad with caution. Says it has the sport package, but I see no headlights, rack, wheels, or otherwise indicating such. $4500-5000 that might be a more realistic price given the mileage. I purchased an '04 GX back in March in Dallas with 140k miles, service records from new, and a lot of recent maintenance for $9,200.

Keep looking, there are better vehicles out there IMO.

that seems quite high. I purchased my 2003 earlier this year with 160k on it for 7k. In above average condition by far for the mileage and I've been in hundreds of vehicles.

It does not have the sport package. No black maple burl wood interior, no chrome interior trim pieces, no smoked headlights, no chrome tail pipe, rims are not the right color.

300k it would have to be really cheap to be worth it in my opinion.

OP did you ever get a truck?

Not sure if you got a truck, but I agree for 300k miles you should be at a lower price than that guy, look around there are tons of GXs as they're old enough now people are trading up. For reference I got a mint '09 with ~50k miles last year for $27k at a dealer no less. Not that was a great deal per se, but the only one with such low miles I could find after looking for a while. Original sticker was $53k
