Busted a brake line on the way home from the park. Admittedly, one of the scarier moment of my life as I also found out my e brake is shot. I was able to get into my neighborhood using low gear. I had a tiny bit of brakes left as the reservoir drained and luckily drifted into the driveway without incident. She is busted on the no. 4 line that runs along the frame rail. I elected to buy the Slee replacement lines and do them all as I never want to experience that again. Does anyone have any experience is doing the brake line replacements with the slee kit? Any tips? They are flexible, correct?

Update - I’m trying to track down
TUBE, REAR BRAKE, NO.2
Part number: 4732260730

This is the hard line that runs from the cross member on the front of the frame along the drivers side frame rail. I can’t get one in time for install this weekend. I’m wondering if it’s easier just to buy 10 feet of 3/16 hard line hose and knock it out. Anyone have experience doing so?

you can always buy bulk brake line from any good auto parts store, but you're going to have to flare the ends. if you've never flared brake lines before, there's a learning curve, but it can be done. I would recommend buying 2 - 3X the amount you need to practice on and in case you screw up any of the flares.

I just bought 72 inch line from autozone that is pre-flared. Hoping it works and is long enough.

How did the line fail, was it rusted out?
