Ok , let me get this straight , so when I walk up to a perfect stranger with a forklift , I can explain my madness to them . :D

- Lift each tire individually
- Raise it till it stuffs
- Measure distance from existing bump to axle tube
- Fashion an extension based on that measurement

If this is correct , then I have a few questions .

- How much error should I build into my extensions ? IOW's at stuff , when I measure , should I add another 1/4" or so , so that I assure that I never run the risk of having the MT's hit the flare , ripping it off ?

- This is a very controlled flex , so again in terms of error , what sort of real-world flex might push me beyond the limits of my bumps ? Or will my initial error addition to the extension account for that added flex ?

I just got my front bump stops in from Dan , so I'm looking forward to getting them on , and having extensions made all around .

On a technical note with regards to making the extensions , would 2x2 square stock do ok ? If I require more than 2" , I thought I could place 2x?" flat stock between the frame rail and the 2x2 square ; as required .

Is this all sound ?

Nope, nothing like that has ever been attempted or even thought of! :flipoff2:

im with reffug....your crazy...

just got find a loading dock brotha :)

T, no needum forkie. Just find some rocks, a high berm, steep narrow ditch etc. Keep in mind whatever you do you'll need to allow for some increase in a real wheeling situation.

You should have told me you wanted some bumpstops. :slap: I still have a few of them in the garage and would have glady sent them to ya. :dropkick:

Yes, measure, allow for some error then lower. In the front, I used 2"x2" tubing and in the rear 2"x3". It ain't rocket science on the drop piece, just whatever works.

There's a huge place across the place from my base . Funny as hell cause the forklift has one of those spoilers on the roof .. you know the angled ones like on the alcohol race cars . Figure based on that the guy might be good humoured , and game to help me out .. I'll drop by in the next week .

So Junk , did you lower them 3" in the rear then ? May be obvious from what you said .. just making sure . In case you layed the 3" section against the rail for some reason .

I'm trying to avoid the ditch because I can't see what is coming close to touching that way .. with any control . With my luck I'll glide down into the ditch and rip off my :princess: flares in one smooth movement .. haha

I supplied the TOP SECRET 1993-ONLY FRONT bumpstops to our shaven friend....:D

Cdan, I have seen 2 94s that had them too, but they were early 94s if that matters.

For the record, I used Energy Suspension bumpstops in the front :D

And they came from a long , long way away .. :D

Ask Dan how he knew the part #'s to call over to Japan ... straight out of the customer service guru manual ...

My '94 has bumpstops up front...

Mounted to the bottom side of the frame rails directly above the axle housing?

I was waiting for that ... ;)

Dude , the front look like the rears .. they are bolted to the frame rails , and come between the frame rail and the axle tube .

TY

Not inside the coil ..

See in this pic how the fron tcoils are 'outside' of the rails ? Well the bumps mount directly below the rails ... essentially beside the coils .

Cool ... you're lucky . Most of us have to get them from Japan , or buy aftermarket on the continent as Junkster has ...

Correct, I have bumpstops in the coil AND on the frame above the axle housing...

Hmm,

I have not personally seen them on a 94 but since 93 and 94 are VERY similar I am not too surprised. They are not present on 91-2 or 95-7 and they ARE NOT listed in the parts catalog, period.
