Built 60 for Sale or Trade for 80???

So I've come to realize that my 60 is way over built for my (family) needs. I hardly ever use it (and probably have never used it to its potential for that matter) so I've decided to either sell it or trade if possible for something a bit more wife "user friendly." I love this rig and don't want to part with it, however, family comes first and I'm looking for something we'll all get use out of. I'd like to sell it for 7k or trade for an 80 series. Of course I realize there is a price difference between the two, but I'm not looking for a comparable built 80, just something that's pretty decent as far as clean and of course would prefer lockers. Anyway, here is my build:

1985 FJ 60 w/ 206,000 miles.
Chevy 400 w/ RV cam via Mark's Adapter Kit (under 10K on engine re-build) with A/C, Mountain Man re-built Quadra Jet (4 bl) Carb, desert cooler radiator
Stock 4-speed tranny with a Farey Case Splitter (can you say overdrive?)
Geared w/ 4:11's
Detroit Locker in Rear & Lock Rite Locker in front (fully locked)
Dakar Heavy lift with 1.5" longer shackles
33" tires (currently, with possibility of a set of 33” BFG mudders also as seen in one pic)
Heavy duty bumpers front and rear
Warn M8000 winch
Roof rack (surco aluminum rack)
CD player, CB, tinted windows, Hella driving and fog lights, rear shoulder belts, blah blah.

You get the idea. Basically all this thing needs is a set of sliders and a new paint job as most all 60's with original paints do. As can be seen in the pics, the roof and hood are suffering from oxidation and there are a couple of primered spots that were small dents that were recently fixed (buddy backed into me wheeling and fixed it and a couple more as payback, he’s a paint and body guy anyway). NO major rust, only small spots here and there that would be fixed as part of any paint job. Minimal leak from transfer case (few small drops when stopped, not bad, just enough to be annoying) due to bad gasket/ sealant replacement during Farey install.

All and all a very solid rig and well taken care of. I don't like to break or beat up my chit, so I can assure this rig has not been abused. Hell, it's even stored under an RV cover. I'd like to either sell and buy an 80, or trade for an 80. Wife would like more of a stock 80 instead for her driving likes so there you go. Like I said, I don't need to sell it, I’m not hurting for cash, really just throwing it out there to see if someone could use it more than I and work something out for both our needs, but if nothing pans out so be it. Thanks for looking. Oh yeah, NOT SMOG LEGAL so keep that in mind (located in So. Oregon where there's no smog laws........yet).

**Sorry for lack of better pics, but I can't figure out how to get my photobucket images to link up and actually be viewable so screw it, this is all I can get up on the site by re-sizing on my cheesy Microsoft photo viewer. If someone can explain how it's done simply, then great and much appreciated by me an others I'm sure.***

And a few more. Email @ trog1234@msn.com is probably best since I won't get to see the mud board until after I get home from work everyday.

I dig those bumpers....did you build them yourself?

The 33" tires...what brand? are they on 16" wheels? size?

nice rig! good luck with the sale

Bumpers were built by a pretty skilled crusier head here in So. Oregon. Nothing fancy, but pretty burly and serves the purpose, not bad for $150 eh? Tires are on the stock 15" rims, one set 33"x 9.5" Les Schwab Wild Country TXR A/T's and the other set is 33"x 12.5" BFG mudders.

Mike I totally hear ya and no sweat. We all gotta do what we gotta do. Like I've said before, I'm not dying to move this thing, but if the right situation pops up, so be it. Plus the longer I have it through summer, the more dune trips I can get in with it. I have to admit, until I put in the sbc, this thing was not that fun in the dunes unless it was pretty mild rolling dunes. Now I can go way more places and up and over way bigger dunes. Hmmm.......... why am I looking to move this again??? Oh yeah, family. It's all about the family......right? :bang:

Built by Jon at Cruiser Parts?

Clean 60!!!!!! I want one pretty bad to round out the stable. BUMP.

John Grove. I think he still goes by Cruiser Parts, although he's had that name for years, I don't think it was ever "officially" registered, but yeah, that'd be him. He did the engine conversion and the Farey install also. Good guy to know if you own a cruiser that's for sure.

he did 7k or clean 80

Thanks for pointing that out. I should clarify that a bit more, 7k OBO. Leaning more towards selling than trading.

Why are people who either do not have the money for the truck, or not interested in buying it, are always the ones :crybaby: about a price not being listed. If you are so worried about it PM the man....HAHA just food for thought :flipoff2::meh:.....oh and bump for an awesome rig

How about a pic or two of the engine conversion?

Haha!! Nice. Oh yeah, I guess I should put up a pic or two of the engine. Although engine pics seem to always look like crap unless they are coated in WD-40, but oh well, it is what it is. Like I said, done via the Mark's Adapter kit (through John at Cruiser Parts). Don't let the 350 valve cover stickers fool you, it's a 400, just running stocker 350 valve covers. Of course it comes with all the "mandatory zip ties" required to insure nothing touches where it ain't supposed to. No extra charge for them. Not as "clean" looking in the engine bay as it could be because I left all the original 2f engine plugs, lines, wires, etc., etc. in place just in case I ever decided to go back to OEM power plant. It runs like a champ and gets pretty much the same gas mileage as the 2f did. So far I can't complain.

Just noticed. The add says 400 v8, but in the picture the valve covers say 350. I know that the valve covers are interchangeable, just wandering?

nice 60! i've got your twin on the other side of the country.....and with a v8 also to boot:grinpimp:....good luck with the sell, thinking about selling mine too,but don't wanna get raped on price right now
