Here is a brief list of the plan, so far!
The truck was well baselined, so there are just a few things needed. The truck had a recent front axle service, new brakes, and good service history.
Mechanical:
Install new Toyota wiper blades, because I dislike aftermarket ones.
Change Heater control valve and new Toyota Red Coolant.
Oil Change with Toyota 5W-30 and T Filter.
Inspect Brakes, Bearing Pre Load, U Joints etc.
Suspension:
The truck was lifted many years ago with the standard OME lift kit and the previous owner had just installed new OME shocks.
Ride and Drive is good, but thought I should check the condition of the OME bushings only to find out they were brand new, the catch is that they hadn’t been installed.
Check Caster and apply appropriate non bushing correction method and align.
Rotate the 6000 mile old Falken 315’s.
Interior:
The truck has new leather in the front seats, rebuilt bottom cushions, and a new seat gears.
New matching Leather for the second row seats have been ordered, not that the rears re terrible, I just like things to match.
Recover the Gray Steering Wheel at Cover Craft.
New LED interior lights from Odd Iron Off Road
Exterior:
I love the 90’s but gold emblems weren’t my favorite automotive accessory of the day, however the Toyota Black Chrome was very cool, so I had to make the change. I used a little different process than I had used on 40th anniversary/ Collector Edition, they are a little darker than the factory ones, but look pretty good.
The original owner had a local shop custom fabricate a robust rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier. First step was to remove the swing out and place a spare underneath. I also had some Chequer plate made to help finish the rear bumper. Undecided on if I will leave the rear bumper or return it back to a stock rear bumper and factory splash guards, but this looks okay for now.
