Hello,

I have a 2012 LC 79 and I would like to install Recaro Bucket seats, does anyone know the dimensions or the specifications. Will anything work ?

Ask Recaro, for the prices they charge, I would expect some nice brochures detailing dimensions and styles.

However if you want something really special that will bolt straight in ,you cant go past Paradrive Seats. These are specifically made for offroad use and sold through ARB outlets.
They fit these to landcruisers for emergency use such as ambulance and rescue.

Recaro is for racing cars and I have seen many owners end up dissatisfied with them when they are fitted to 4WDs.

I THINK this is a pic of them installed into a 79 series

I dont believe they are direct bolt in. Recaro makes, or at least used to make brackets for the 75/78 series, depends on where you are whether vendors will/can get them. I don't know if the 75/78 bracketry will work with the 79 though. As Roscoe said, their online support blows, you need to contact Recaro directly to get what you need.

Do s search, a mudder has the Expert M seats with the Recaro brackets in their troopie. It turned out nice and the Expert seats are great.

I don't see the problem with the oem seats , I have Toyota sheep skin covers on my oem seats and did a non stop 12.5 hour drive with no issues.

Same here ,I just junked the crap that the PO fitted to my troopy and replaced them with some OEM seats I had rebuilt.
Nothing worse than having to slide across the big lump on the side of a rally seat every time you get in/out
