What's the limit on mallards?

I know where you're going with that Marty. But don't be like everyone else who always forgets that there is one other person hunting....the guy who took the picture. I will say this, there were many days that season when we shot 4 Greenheads per man and filled out the limit with a couple of Wood Ducks or Teal. Those hunts were like those timber hunts you see Phil Robertson making. Once the birds commit, it's unreal. It's just point and shoot. Max distance 15 yards!!!!

Schwing, I'll be waiting for my invite this year! It would be a good write up! ;)

From the looks of it, I'll have plenty of places to hunt this year. I keep a houseboat down at the Wax Lake Outlet for the overnighters. I am getting in on a lease in the Geuydan area that will be an easy hunt and have you back at work by 9:00am. It has been great for geese and awesome during teal season. And, when it's adventure that your soul seeks, I have more than a few spots in the Basin. I'll leave you all with an open invitation - hunters and non-hunters alike. Watching the sun come up in a South Louisiana Marsh is an awesome thing even for folks with no desire to shoot a bird.

Awesome vehicle! I can't wait to see it in person. Where's the propane tank? Tell us what it's like driving from the right (wrong) side. When do we get some interior shots? Don't leave us hanging!

awesome! hows the engine?

LOL... I hope it's ok. (Reported to be) I only drove it from one side of the parking lot to the other...lol. Hadn't had time to even open the damn hood...

... I'll leave you all with an open invitation...

:bounce2:I'm in ...and wanna be in!:bounce: Need some notice for the j - o - b :frown:

Propane tank is in the rear about where the rear cross member is (where you'd expect a large rock to end up:doh:).. exact location
and pix to come.

Driving from the right (on my short trip) really wasn't bad... We'll see soon enough.

Inside shots to come. My :princess: took those for Will who's in Franklin w/ my folks and was literally begging Beth to go take a few pics and email them to him...lol.

I must say I'm a bit worried from my first "sight unseen" purchase. I haven't gone over the rig much but my first thoughts were, "Oh my God what have I done." Later, it seems that most is intact and just needs some love. It seems to be in better shape than my 1979 in regards to metal and the bed is pristine. I'm waiting for "eagle eye" Landry to go over it. I have my fine tooth comb ready for him to borrow.

Hopefully:

New bib and d/c the wire ties on the bezel..lol
mirrors/rear signal, emblems missing..nick nacks
4" lift
Disc brakes
Seats/seat belts in rear (1 set missing)
D/C the kangaroo killer
33's or 35's probably AT's or MT's (have 4 new 33" Toyo AT's on OEM's)
Rims - blast and paint wagon wheels black or just get new ones at that price
Pray that my :princess: won't divorce me as I make the 40 more trail ready.

wow, that is really cool. Are the rear seats jump seats?

Hope so

What were you going to put it on or in? Bloody Mary????

Any chance you'll be back down this way? That was a fun night.

Unfortunatelly my company has chosen not to paint our airplanes at the New Iberia facility for now. I can always hope that things may change. And yes tabasco is a must for the bloody mary.

Thanks, next event I'd like to line them all up with us out front and get a pic. It would be a great pic for the site and if its good enough I'll blow it up and make a poster with it with our logo and hang it in the shop. :D Another picture at Paradise with the rigs parked by the base of the river where you can see the water and tree line in the background would look awesome. :)

Ok, need to tell a quick funny story...

Got a call from one of my good friends this am b/c he wanted to "check out" the cruiser as it sits at my work. He called me back and the first thing he says is, "Hey, the rig looks great but you need to add some clutch fluid!".... LMAO. He was good enough to dig through the engine and actually check all the fluids!!! Hell, I hadn't even opened the hood yet!

Good friends, few cruisers....

Thanks Mike...always good to see you bud.

Paradise looks really really cool. When will there be another ride there??

It is a very nice place to ride, no real obsticles to mention but nice enough to have fun and enjoy. The river side is very nice. They just had a ride there two weeks ago. For the August LA4x4 meeting I'm going to look into seeing what we can do to ride that property at our discretion I'd rather do it with them but our schedules don't always line up. I'll report the progress on the findings at our next meeting. I should have something by then. :)

As Football season approaches I'm taking heavy doses of ESPN and SI to see whats going on found Saints vs Steelers preseason game this Sunday. Its still football even if its practice :D

Can't wait. It's going to be on football network though, think only the local new orleans ABC station will broadcast it.

Well, anyone that knows me, knows I'm absolutely nuts about foreign toyotas, and if Brian didn't already have a page, I'd make one. Anyway, long story short is that the troopie (y) runs so incredibly smooth and just purrs. No blowby gases, nice clean exhaust and sounds great. I'm so much more about mechanical and function than looks...I looked her inside and underneath, and Liked what I saw. I even had to check out the glovebox...and there she was: The OEM factory paperwork...owner's manual, and Air conditioning manual...how sweet is that?!?! along with some Australian money, and a cute pack of matches with a Koala bear on it (now that's cool)....anyway, its not everyday you see a non-usa FF rear axle on a cruiser (well, I should say NON-NORTH AMERICAN since the canadian spec rigs aren't FF either)...anyway, I was stoked to say the least. For MANY years I've wanted a pair of NON-USA doors...they get the new style doors like us but with the VENT window....I always liked that...sure comes in handy. The interior is very clean and well the intake is begging for a snorkel... ;) All in all, its my favorite rig now. I picture the top off and a custom Pakistani canvas military-style top on it....
