Broken motor mount?

I would do them both while you are at it, just because I am like that :)

I thought so too Stan, but no one suggested that...........until now. :p

Probably cause everyone knows I'm cheap and wouldn't want to spend that much $$. ;)

I understand cheap, but you will be right there, everything you need to do the job etc. I factor in time to any job. Double set up, double clean up, no thanks.

You'll never break the ps motor mount. It's always in compression, so it will never tear like the ps side.

I've never broke a ps side mount and I can be hard on things. If you want some help just let me know. I'm sure we have met just been long time ago.

Back in the day, I would order parts for Logan for whatever he needed. He loved to work on his truck and knew how to use the FSM. Me, I just want to maintain and do what is required because I am not that mechanically gifted and IH8GREASE. Bad eyes too!

I wish I had you guys passion (and kahunas) to just tear into any part of these trucks, knowing it will be fixed correctly. You guys, and most members of this club, amaze me. Thanks for helping out an old noob.

I'm going to order that PS mount tomorrow. :)

I still want to get the Ps cause Logan would have used that same Logic on me. Sorta funny. I would appreciate your help and will pm you when parts come in to see when's good for you. Really happy to have someone this close to supervise. Thanks

Having broke all my mounts on my 40 going up the ledge on Daniel i will never say that ever about only breaking the one. Broke both the front rubber pucks and broke both the long bolts on the bell housing mounts. Fun going back down the backside of Daniel. That was a trip with R.K.

I think he was joking..... but if he was going to do an engine swap i'd have to say it would be a Ford I6 300 right Loga...... err I mean Kenny ;)

I was just kidding, but Logan kept telling me he wanted the 302 engine out of my 1984 F150. That's my firewood hauling truck, so I said NO! The 3Fe in it now only has about 20K on it since the rebuild. I think it will do just find for my purpose.

Side note: He might of gotten it since I'm getting too old to mess with firewood. :)

Yeah that was his other Idea.... they were 300 I6, the 302 from your old truck or a 2FE build with a turbo

Finally received the motor mount!

I only ordered the DS cause after sleeping on it, I forgot to call and order the PS. This sucker is 4" from end of thread studs. I'm not sure I have 4" clearance without removing exhaust, fan shroud, the PS motor mount, etc.

Here is what I would like feedback on. What about removing the alternator for easy access, remove bottom motor mount nut, then removing 3 bolts to arm attached to engine that is also attached to motor mount. All while supporting engine with board and floor jack. Lift motor mount straight up and then reassembly. Easy peasy. What is the flaw in my thinking here?

What i do is about what you say. Loosen the top and bottom nuts on the mount, then pull up on the engine slightly to get the weight off of it . Then from there unbolt the mount off of the engine itself and that will give you all sorts of room. On top of it just get the stuff out of the way to make it easier or go from the bottom to slide it all out / in.
