Used my Engo 12k today on a muddy hill. All the steel cable spooled up on one side and busted the two bars that connect the two sides of the winch. I kept using it the rest of the way up the hill and it worked fine. So is this thing junk or can I just keep using it?

I am not winch expert but that happened to mine when I re-clocked it.

I would unravel all if it and respool it or upgrade to switch to synthetic.

There is my before and after...

I am not real worried about the cable, more about the busted cage mounts.

Gonna need a new side plate, and perhaps a new crossbar (lower one in pic looks buggered)
