Haven't checked in recently. Few things I wanted to toss in for tracking.

1. 81110-60P70. Added this Koito H4 Headlamp upgrade and I love it. Cost/benefit is high with this one.
2. Works Bell Japan sorted me out with a longer boot for hub boss, remedied the gap that truly bothered me.
3. Buddy took some pics of it, had a few rental companies ask for pictures and I didn't really have anything of merit to provide.

Engine bay is at a standstill, smog is this month so I have to get it put to stock and retune it.

Steering hub boss is mucho better. Works Bell Japan customer service was 10/10. Even while using google translate.

Few random pics my bud took. This is all up on the hills in Malibu where the fires just swept through.

Nothing too interesting going on...passed smog, so that included resmogging and desmogging.

Now that she is good to go, i decided to fully desmog. Waiting on @FJ40Jim egr delete then going to weld up the pcv or make a new unit. Until then, here she is including the smog cert.

Also after some scouring, I happened to find a lovely replacement for 15600-41010, larger size, made in Japan Denso oil filter.

When you went in for smog did you put the original air filter on, or were you able to smog it with the 3FE air filter?

Went back to completely stock including USA air cleaner. I kept every piece so it would pass visual as well.

Is the Denso oil filter a one off find or readily available? Now, I want one

A while ago I purchased the non-USA 3F pcv vent hardline because it appeared it would be a direct replacement for desmogged trucks. My quick fitting made me think it wouldn’t fit....

Well I was WRONG!

3F pcv hardline fits perfectly, only two items to note, ever so slightly bend the hardline just a hair away from manifold, i did this off truck and test fit, no issue at all. Then add a 8-9mm spacer behind the bracket off the hardline and voila! Now the truck is completely desmogged and the only non Toyota item is the J Pipe block off from @FJ40Jim

Also did a carb rebuild, thanks @cruiseroutfit for the kit. Might give you a buzz on mixture screw, mine is a little bent...

Are you leaving the state within 2 years? What are you doing about CA Smog moving forward?

Nope, I'm not, registered in a different county...

Plus if I do have to smog again, I don't mind reinstalling, I kept everything, it isn't hard to resmog, just takes a little time.

Brief recap. Solid weekend, friend flew in to see a band called OM in Pioneertown....couldn't ask for a better venue for that band. If you're into sludgy stoner metal and don't know OM...give em a listen. Ended up camping in the middle of town...no clue if that's allowed but it was empty and no one bothered us. Afterwards we cruised into Joshua Tree, drove for a bit, took some pics, got some stickers and coffee and enjoyed the sunny day which was a nice change from a rather dark and rainy LA weekend.

Anyway, I had to ice my buddy at LAX like I always do, and it works every time. After that we popped into Emory's Open House which was very impressive to say the least. Free food is alway appreciated as well. Then wrapped up with seeing a clean mustard 40 in SB...not sure who it is? Never seen before.

Really nice weekend! A lot of freeway driving which isn't always fun but the destinations were definitely worth it. It's unforunate the porsche world has become so inflated...I had my window as well...then sold it right before the bubble....will forever regret letting it go. I can't find a 72 911T for less than 50k in decent running shape.

It's unforunate the porsche world has become so inflated...I had my window as well...then sold it right before the bubble....will forever regret letting it go. I can't find a 72 911T for less than 50k in decent running shape.

I passed on a rust free, running and driving 72 911E that had been repainted violet (yuck). $4500.

Also an original white paint daily driver 356b for $18k
