Brake wierdness

Howdy,

My 60 is actually legal and running great except for one thing:


Very randomly (hot or cold, driven a lot or not, etc.) My brakes are mush to the floor and only work normally after about 4 good pumps. Sometimes days goes by and then it happens out of the blue. Fluid level stays fine- not leaking.

Any thoughts? Anything "easy and cheap" to swap out?

first thing I'd do is change out your master cylinder and do a complete flush on the fluid.

Is the fluid black and nasty?

The master could be leaking internally. Also look at the booster and see if the paint is bubbling under the master. If it is the master is leaking.

Check the rear wheel cylinders to make sure they are not leaking too. Pull the boots back to check.
