Hey Guys,

I've got a 55 with 07 4runner brakes in the rear and ate them up this last camping trip. Before I start searching the webs, thought I'd come to the source of knowledge first. What brands do you guys like for slotted rotors, calipers and pads? My wagon is a heavy pig and needs the best stopping power. I run a Wilwood hydroboost system, too.

Thanks in advance!

I don’t think slotted rotors and off-road go well together.

I just use the OEM brake pads and rotors and don’t bother machining the rotors when they get warped, I just replace them.

What's your thought on the slots? Do they collect mud, etc. and wear out faster? Thanks for responding.

On my 3rd gen, I use the EBC USR Slotted rotors. Have them on a few years now and they haven't warped or anything, which is good considering 4runner rotors not the strongest generally.

Re pads, currently using genuine toyota but considering stop-tech or EBC for my next set

Thanks for confirming my purchase. I ordered the EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with their orange pads. I'll give them a try.

Re the slots collecting mud, i actually bought it BECAUSE i had issues with my regular "flat" rotors of little pebbles and stones etc getting caught between the pad and rotor, so I figured the slots would help to clear the pad face. I've had good luck with slotted Brembos as well on my Honda, so I'm all for them.
You should enjoy the EBC, especially that gorgeous finish out of the box.
