Brake Pad Install HELP

Installing front brake pads.
There is a R and L on the pads.
Where do they go?
Do both L go in driver side and R on pass side?
Or
Does a L go on the left side of rotor and R go on right side of rotor?

Left on left side of rotor, right on right side of rotor.

The pads were L on pass side and R on driver side.
What (if any) problem would there be having the pads on the wrong place?

The squeelers may not make noise.

They should be installed so the squeeler is toward the bottom.
