Trading my old 92 Toyota truck for a 1984 Fj60. There is a slight problem, the brake booster is bad. Can a brake booster be rebuilt? Should I just buy a new one? I think he told me they run around $200 for a new one. Any suggestions would be very helpful. If anyone has one they would like to part with for a good price, that would be cool also. Thanks guys, Ryan

For a 60 they are not cheap. Check out a new Toyota, thats what I just did. Mike

Thanks for the shoutout guys. It looks like that booster is going to be pretty tough to come by new. There are none in the US so it would likely come from Japan on the slow boat. Also, MUD price is $1037.12.

Edit: Happy to help any way I can though. And of course anything I can do to help out the STLCA!

We install 89 mini truck boosters in 60s. They are about a direct bolt in but you have to shorten the push rod to the peddal ~1/2"

Less than $200 form your local parts store.

Well I decided not to trade. It was a little too rusty and I really don't want another project right now. Got to much as it is now. Spending a ton on the current project. Oh well, it is fun as *&($#. Guess I will have to change my build thread name, it is no longer going to be rootbeer brown. The new body is red but I will be going with a different cooler instead. Stay tuned.
