hi all. i'm a virgin to working on my wife's LX570. i've done several brake jobs, most recently a few days ago i replaced the rear pads on my FZJ80. I have used my motive pressure bleeder on my 80, my wife old expeditions, my sons bronco and several trailers. can i use it on the LX570?

i looked at the online FSM and it referrs to bleeding the brake booster with accumulator pump assembly and then bleeding the brakes the old way with the 2 man pump, hold, etc. then it asks you to connect an "intelligent tester" to the DLC3 and then you have to clear DTCs.

is all this necessary or do i just do it like my other cars where i pressurize the master cylinder to 10psi and start from the farthest caliper?

thanks.

You're way over thinking this man. Done my brakes the old fashioned way (with and without +psi on master) with no problems whatsoever. You're good.

I know on 2013 + LC ignition needs to be in ON position to bleed brakes due to pre-collision system.

just got finished. no surprises with the installation of the pads themselves. torqued the caliper bolts to 65ftlb per FSM. for bleeding, neither of my power bleeder heads would fit. the one i use on my FZJ80 had a chain that goes under the MC and tightens with wing nuts. no way i could get that around the beast of a apparatus sitting under the brake fluid reservoir, so I enlisted the wife to do it the old fashioned way. i had the ignition ON and you could definitely hear the pump working. when i bled into my bleed bottle the pressure was pretty high. for some reason it made the traction control alarm go off. once i finished we were able to get the alarm turned off and everything seemed to operate fine. the hardest part may have been taking off that stupid plastic shroud so i could see the MC. fwiw, i ended up using OEM pads. i know i could have gotten them cheaper through a MUD member but i was in a time crunch so i paid around $70 for the 4 rear pads at the local dealership.
