Hi guys - I'm getting ready to bleed my brakes (new fluid) and ordered new Mr.T bleeder nipples. Those new parts didn't come with new caps. Any suggestions on sourcing new bleeder caps? I assume they are a standard ID so should be a common part.

Thoughts?

Ha! Funny you say that. I just had the same issue. I haven't thought about getting official bleeder caps so I will see what gets learned here ;)

In the meantime I just used rubber vacuum caps. Works fine :meh:

Any parts store can get them for you cheep. Their only job is to keep debris out of the bleeder valves. I've used vacuum caps and sometimes tire stem caps too, in a pinch

If you care that much about it, go to the parts store, get some vacuum line, cut it, then melt the open end.

That sort of s*** is no worry to me.

 as soon as I posted this question, I goggled this and found these are commonly available. Not sure if local parts guys will have them but I assume so.

Agree that as long as they fit tight and don't come off in murky conditions, I'm good.

I usually grab a handful off of cars at the junkyard. You should be able to find plenty of the same kind that fit. Practically free also

Just had to order bleeders and found the cap part number: 31487-30010. They're like $1.68.

IME it is worthwhile to check all five bleeders for these caps and add them if missing; water and dirt gets into the main drain hole of the bleeders causing rusting inside the bleeder.

Agreed. One of my rears was so bad I couldn't even bleed it. The hole was totally rusted shut.
