Just seeing this, I had a mtb event on Saturday, so wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. How was it? Busy?

Fellow ID cruisers, thanks for posting the details on this trail. The trail is fairly trashed this year. Run off I would say is the cause. So much water has moved rocks around and rutted areas out more. Perhaps a lot of traffic as well. I first got to the top in 2018 in a 100% stock 80 with no diff locks and 285 street tires. No damage really to the Cruiser. I think you would be hard pressed to do that now, we had one up there last year like that and he took some damage. The trail is more torn up now, I scrapped and drug my undercarriage where I normally don’t.
Saw at least 20 Jeeps up there this weekend and only one Toyota besides my 80.

Yeah I hear that, nearby snow station still shows 50+ inches at 8700 feet. Sounds like it wont happen this road trip, maybe another time.May will be a bit early. It goes up to about 9k feet and we had a decent snow year, not great up there, but I bet enough to keep it closed until mid June.
Not saying you couldn’t make it up there in a fairly stock 100, I made it up in a stock 80 once. Things like mud flaps or running boards will get trashed though. It is rated 6/10 on OnX which is the hardest trail in Idaho on OnX.
As Dan said though, there will be snow in May. We usually hit it mid to late June for the first trip of the year.
Cheers
