Bonnet Locking Devices

I want to make a Lock for the Bonnet of my BJ 40. Could you guys show us the devices made to lock the Bonnet. Pictures are very much appreciated.

What's to stop somebody from putting a wrench on the top bracket and just unbolting it from the hood? If they're going through the trouble of stealing something from under the hood, I doubt unscrewing two bolts is going to be much of an entry barrier.

With lock nuts on the other side of those bolts they won't come unscrewed no matter how many times you turn them. The nuts will just spin.

I suppose you can you use one of these locks if the upper and lower bracket holes lined up straight. These locks are available in all different sizes.

Carriage bolts would make more sense. With the square hole and hard to grab head the thought to try and remove them probably wouldn't even cross ones mind.

The later model set up might not be hard to adapt with the standard pull cable operated from inside the truck.

Or disable an alarm, hot wire the starter, disable an immobiliser, or other things to steal the rig...

After getting numerous batteries stolen over the years between deployments on post i just took a couple of the plastic covered steel line that i think was made for bikes and routed it though holes in each front inner part of the hood down to the frame with locks securing it. Something i learned alont time ago though. A lock only keeps an honest man honest.
