As I am really thinking about doing a version of this, I would appreciate your honest opinion:
- Do you feel it produces more power?
- Do you really notice lower EGTs?
- Do you notice more lag?

Many thanks for sharing your project

i have no dyno result to prove any of it but the yes the EGT is lower, no turbo lag this is the reason i decided to mount the intercooler over the engine i installed a pulling fan and a air scoop to deal with the heat sink. my engine had some compression issue on the # 2 cylinder and it is now being rebuild so hard to speak about the power issue.

my air filter is donaldson 940 cfm and i have a 3.5" down pipe, i will also be match porting the intake and exhaust in this rebuild. i am mentioning this because i think the intercooler helps but as you probably know the goal is to make the engine breath better which will produces more power.

i hope this helps:cheers:

excellent idea. do you have any comparison figures before and after installation? what boost are you running? very interested in some more information as i am looking to ic my 12ht but will most likely go the fmic option for the ease of installation and air flow benefits. i only use my truck occasionally and i want to increase the boost from factory 8 to say 14 but i will definately ic it at the same time.

i was running my engine at 13 to 15psi boost no problem and i could have push it more if i wanted to but i was being very conservative because i knew there was something not right about the tapping noise i was hearing in the engine. i also installed a manual boost controller which allowed me to turn up the boost.

in addition i turned up the fuel one full turn which made a difference.

Thanks for the detailed response. I will keep mulling this over.
