Does anybody have a good resource that outlines the body style changes in the 100 series (and LX 470) by year? I searched the Slee newbie guide and I don't see this called out anywhere.

For instance, the 1998s have a boxier look to me than the 2000s but I want to confirm this. In general, I'd love a list of what body changes were made and what years they were implemented.

Thanks

There are some exterior design changes on the Slee web page. I believe there is a year by year comparison thread on here also, not sure if it has exterior changes though.

I am reasonably positive that the body changes are quite minimal. listed below is my off the top of my head differences only on the body, not including the interior changes.

1998-2005 vs 2006-2007

- 2 piece headlight design on early models, 1 piece on later
- wheel design changed in 2003, and again in 2005
- side skirts were not as well designed in 1998-2005
- rear wing was changed to plastic and added a brake light in 06-07
- front bumper changed slightly namely in the fog light and air intake area in 2005ish
- front grill changed very slightly to accommodate the 1 piece headlights in 06-07

Aas far as i know the 1998-2002 trucks are virtually identical on the exterior and are definitely not boxier by any means. you could have seen a 1997 80 series that someone miss labeled as a 1998, i saw that a bunch of times when I was looking to buy an 80 series some years ago.

Appreciate the response.

Possible mis-labeling but I've been looking at tons of these (mainly the LX 470s) and to my eye, the 1998 470s look better/different than a 2000. Not sure if "boxy" is the right description but I do know that to my eye, there's something about the 1998s that look better.

Either way, much appreciated.

There is no real body differences between the 1998 and 2000. Perhaps you're looking at a 98 with different tires or running boards removed? In 2003 you have some very subtle changes and again in 2005. The body stays the same it's things like headlamps, tire size and front grills that change.

Wiki has a good description of the 100's.

Could you be getting confused by the flares that came on some trucks? They make the 100 look a bit like the 80 IMO, therefore sometimes seeming older and boxier... Maybe that's just me, but that's the only time a 100 throws me off. The LX's also have the cladding on the sides, different than the LC stripe.
