Kline- that is a good thing if don't plan on putting anymore keys on your ignition key ring, as the added weight of million keys on the ring will prematurely wear out an ignition switch in any vehicle.
FWIW, the added length of the new key might put even more strain on the ignition due to added leverage? This might be a little anal, but in the second pic, grooves on the new key run up even further than on the original. I think it would be possible to have the key recut making it shorter. Might make a difference
