It has taken me a long time to make this decision, but sadly I am selling my FJ60. I have owned this vehicle for about 9 years and have put a significant amount of time into building it. Before I go any further, the engine has seized in this vehicle and will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The body and frame of the truck is in excellent condition.
Pros: The body of this vehicle is completely straight without any dents and the paint job was professionally completed by Kings Kustoms. The undercarriage is very clean with no corrosion. I have worked on removing minimal surface rust with wire brush and sand blaster on chassis and engine bay. Transmission shifts extremely smooth and the 4 wheel drive works perfect (I have the 4WD badge and will remount before selling). The new suspension drastically improves driving quality; especially off road. Most accessories for engine work perfectly (water pump, power steering, alternator, starter, smog pump is a delete tension pulley). Working heat.
Cons: Sadly the engine seized earlier this year. I am unsure of the reason but I have a diagnosis from black stone that I can send upon request. A better mechanic than I may be able to make sense of it. Two surface rust spots, one on fender and very small bubbling on door corner. Neither of these spots have eaten into the metal. Some residue around side emblem, this can be wet sanded out, I just haven’t had time to do it. AC compressor was never hooked up, I assume it does not work. Dent in front bumper from towing back after engine failure… dent in bottom trim below door.
Things that have been done:
- New carpet and floor mats
- New paint job in original blue color.
- 2-2.5” Old Man Emu suspension lift.
- Kilmat sound deadening installed throughout entire vehicle.
- Front axel knuckles rebuilt on both sides (have paperwork).
- New kenwood stereo head and pioneer speakers.
- 33x10.5x15 bf Goodrich KO2 tires with good tread.
- New LED front head lights.
- New Radiator
- New Surinam power steering pump conversion.
- New motorized antenna
- New slave and master cylinder.
Does not come with Front Runner rack unless purchased seperate (brand new never been used).
