The time had come to address some corrosion issues on the wheels and ARB for the family cruiser.
The OEM wheel were cording on nearly all of the edges so they were ground down and smoothed out.
Lot of paint (2 primers coats, 5 coats of black, 4 coats of satin clear)

The ARB bar was a disappointment due to the fact that it rusted so bad over the 4 years it has been on the truck. The rust just bubbled up behind the powder coating no chips or anything. I have never had a bumper do this. Since the rust was bad and after grinding it out re powder coating was not an option due to the amount of work required to make is smooth. All of the rubber pads on the bumper along with the light houses had bolts rusted out. (ARB should use better hardware) I used the monsta liner product and am super pleased with the results. I have used other DIY bed liners in the past and this stuff by far is the best. I will report back how long this coating last.

I am not an ARB basher I have bought 4 other ARB bumpers over the years and a couple lockers and have been pleased with products but the Sahara bar is junk due to the rust issues.

Looks good! How about some closeup photos of the newly coated bar?

I'm disappointed to hear this, pretty sure I will be going with the Sahara bar, I like the look by far the best of all the front bumpers out there for the 100 series. And I'm in PA, and this will be a DD so will need to deal with some salt...

Please tell me that pic was taken on a hill and that's not your trucks stance...

Hill

If it was not on a hill then the trees sure grow funny around here.
Yes my driveway is actually a steep hill that is why it is gravel. If it was paved it would suck in the winter.
yes I still have the running boards because the kids use them to get into the truck and this is not my off road truck.

Attached is a photo of the bumper finish. It is better than what I thought it would be and seems very hard.

Yes. Do tell. Need to do mine. What color is that?

Nice looking finish. Should solve any rust problems for a long time. Need to take my winch off and may do mine at the same time.

1 quart

I purchased 1 quart and the rollers only.
1 quart was enough to coat the outside and winch area 2 x times.
I did not coat the inside of the bumper since it has been coated many times with fluid film I knew it would be next impossible to get it clean.

Color is plain black

1. Remove bumper (I did grind on the bumper while it was still mounted)
2. Remove black rubber trim parts from bumper.
3. I put the bumper on a set of saw horses using 2 clamp to hold it down.
4. Grind off all rust and questionable areas of powder coating
5. Sand areas to be painted with 150 grit to knock off the shine
6. Wash bumper and degrease I used water and simple green and let the bumper dry overnight
7. Sanded areas of bumper that needed more scuffing.
8. Monsta says you can paint over the rusted bare metal but I used a good self etching primer on bare metal.
9. Sand primer
10. Mix up one quart of liner and roll/sponge first coat on.
11. after 3 hrs I put the second coat on (bumper was in temperature controlled area so it was dry)
