In murdo sd now. At a subway. I got 100yds down the road and discovered a terrible death wobble. I moved joes spare to the back, re welded the broken hydro ram mount to the tierod, and tightened a loose shock. Took about 25 min. Doing great now!

Great time. The 4runner did amazing. 2400 miles ( if i make it home) and a week of tough wheeling, including kong, hal johns, and jasons rock. Just needs a new tire so far.

Made it home, unloaded the 40 and returned the uhaul. I had stopped for the night in Des Moines, IA, so today was a relatively short drive. Now to start fixing all the issues.

Got into des moines an hour ago.

I'm ready to go back.

Ahhhh. Just getting up. I needed that!

Hope you all enjoyed the Hills and continue safe travels home...looking forward to the stories and pics :)

I drove my FZJ80 800+ miles yesterday on 5 cylinders...injector #3 quit...NE/IA/WI in 100+ temps...at least the AC was kicking butt :) (story there pending...)

Jimkyser don't worry your honey badger status is still working. Anyone that drives that far in an open 40 and wheels it, planning to drive it home, is full fledged honey badger. The box truck just proves that you can overcome lifes curve balls.

Ordered the knuckle rebuild kit including wheel bearings and new passenger steering arm from Cruiser Outfitters today. Haven't done anything else, had to catch up with life a little.

I'll start working on the rear axle tomorrow or Wednesday. I need to determine whether I have an early or late 40 full floater since many of the parts different. I think it's the later one due to the parking brake, but I'm not sure yet. Then I'll order new bearings, seals, gaskets, etc. so I can pull the hubs off and upgrade the studs.

That will leave the fueling problem that I'm not completely sure is all the fuel pump and not at least partially the carb. It runs fine with the inline electric fuel pump but I certainly haven't gotten it as hot as I did on the trail when it failed. Either way, I need to clean up the quicky trail install I did since I currently need to pull a fuse to shut off the pump when I get out of the truck.

At gingers to drown my sadness. It occured to me its about the same diatance from his casa to my casa as it is from wild bills to deadwood.
house to house:
10 miles
35 minutes
18 stop lights
5 stop signs
20 feet elevation change at the highway overpass
Deadwood to wb:
6 miles
8 minutes
0 stop lights
1 stop sign at either end.
1000 feet elevation change over a mountain

I hate illinois

I hate illinois

Quoted for truth. You forgot to add 50+ dumbfxxxs who cant/should not drive doing something stupid. Sucks that ill be stuck here for the for seeable future.

Yea Illinois sucks. Crossing the Mississippi was depressing. Even worse was getting off I80 and driving up Harlem and seeing how much it really sucks after having driven half way across the country.

Lol theres pics of the tacos cherry popping badlands run in there! Still rockin the street treads!

Huh, I don't remember having to pay to download when I joined there, maybe that's why I haven't used it in 4 years. I'll see what I can do.
