I think so. But one issue I would be wary of from cheap snorkels is the UV degradation of cheap plastic over time. In 5 years they may turn into a brittle mess.

Hello,
A combination of grease and silicone makes OEM intake piping water tight. A ring of the former on the inside of the joint, and a coat of the latter on the rest. A bit simple but effective.
Grease will block dirt or fluids (water/mud) that pass through the silicone sealant.
The same should work for the snorkel duct.
