I have for sale a complete PTO winch set up from a 1986 BJ74.

This sale includes the PTO gear box, shifter, shafting and shaft support bearings, the winch head and mounting bracketry.

The wire rope is not included with the sale of the winch and will be removed before shipping.

-->> Cost of complete package: [STRIKE]$1000 CAD. [/STRIKE]
Now - $800 sitting on a pallet. (as of 2010 04 12)

** The sale of this PTO winch is contingent on the 13BT engine first being sold.

- I will NOT separate the winch or PTO parts and sell them individually.
- I will NOT be removing the PTO drive gear from the transfer case. These gears are readily available and most later models had them included in the case.

- Strapping to pallet (or crating) and shipping to your location is at your expense.
- We can arrange shipping to your location in Canada or the USA.

Please call us directly for service rather than using email. Radd Cruisers is a busy full service repair shop and if we're sitting in front the computer, our customer's trucks do not get worked on...

Price drop - still available, and now that the engine has a pending offer this will be ready to go soon.

So this does or does not come with the gearbox off of the transfer?

Just want to confirm....

Yes, it comes with the PTO gear box, but not the gear that is actually in the transfer case - exactly as stated in my first description. These gears are abundant and commonly supplied in most transfer cases.

How hard would it be to put this on a 40?

From what I've seen comparing my 40 series PTO to a 70 series PTO winch that I helped a friend rebuild... not very. The winches themselves are identical from what I could gather, the only difference is in the mounting.

I'll even make this offer: if you buy it and are unsure of how it's supposed to end up, I'll haul my 40 series PTO up here to Denver one of these weeks I'm on reserve and you can duplicate the setup. The mounting brackets are no more complicated than angle steel and some small spacer blocks. The fairlead and the little bars that run over the top of the 40 series winch have nothing to do with their function.

Not hard, the winch is the same. You'd have to make a mount for the front end and probably adjust the driveshaft length to fit. The PTO gear box is for a split case.

Contact me directly if you want this. It needs to move.

Haven't forgotten you... just waiting on $...

I have a PTO box for a solid x-fer, and need one for a split-case. The two PTO boxes are not totally identical, the bolt holes are different and the gears are a bit out of alignment if the wrong one is used. Putting my box in the mix would make this setup ideal for a 40 and give me what I need... Just an option, I hope that it's okay to suggest this John, and still respect your wish about not splitting it up.

Christian

Actually, my rig has a split case and not the solid transfer (1981). If the rig was any older and I'd be all over your PTO box!

Ahhh ok, bummer for me, lucky for you! ;)
