If anyone is interested, I have tracked my diesel usage over the last 3,678km I have done - mixed highway, town and off-road (4wd) driving. The average over all those k's is 12.2L per 100km, with the best fill up being 10.4/100 and the worst being 13.89/100 - this one was a long drive (550km) with 4px and gear in the car, and half of it was on 22ish PSI in the tyres & maybe 60k's of 4wding.

1985 BJ73 with N/A 3B, H55F, 4.11 diffs, 31x10.5R15 all-terrains on Toyota alloys, ARB bar, no roofrack etc. 303,000km on odo.

Now I wish I had taken time to learn all of that metric stuff.

When I put those on my FJ73 it threw the odometer and speedo out by quite a bit, maybe 10% or more.

G'Day Fella's,

Thanks for the Trip Report Pathnz.

Not sure what my Liters/100kms are but with the same vehicle (BJ73-3B & 388,000 ish Kms), I get 25mpg around town and 30 on the Hwy (at 90 km/h).

As an indicator of how good the my Ballistic Brick (aka-the "Battle Cruiser") is on fuel, I just returned from a trip up the mountains over the weekend, this included 70% rural gravel roads, 20% Hwy (both 2WD) and about 10% 4WD (Hi Range).
I did 556 Kms and used 5/8ths of a tank of fuel (indicated), going on my fuel gauge (which is pretty accurate).

There a GREAT Vehicle!

Hope that helps

Best Wishes to all, for a Great 2018!

Not knowing what I'm doing here, I'm experimenting How To upload some images of this same trip FYI.

This would have cost 659.00 NZ$ .........If you were in an FJ73 and got the same mileage so to speak it would have cost you 956.00 NZ$.
. :)
My FJ73 was getting about 350klms to the tank as the 3F slowly died. With a newly rebuilt 1HZ it was getting over 650klms:clap:

That's a good spot for the jack Homer. Are the cops happy with it?

My major motivation for swapping the 3f for a 12HT was when I calculated Gold Coast to Uluru........ $2000 minimum return with some 4x4 work.
Hope my 12Ht is around 10.5 / 11 Touring Plus whatever for 4x4.
