Hi, This is my first post so go easy. This is a great forum and I spend hours reading through the posts, now I need some advice. I've got a Canadian BJ70 with a 3b, recently aquired. It's going in for body work shortly, so I've been tinkering with it by changing the oil, fuel filter, tranny, transfer and dif oils. I can't figure out how to check or drain the water separator, It's got a type of cap nut on the bottom with a nipple. Also a small bolt on the side up top. How does this work? Also does anybody have or know of a passengers side front inner wheel well they would like to sell. I got the other side from 4 wheel in Edmonton, nice piece but they didn't have the other side. I've tried Toyota but it's no longer available. Any advice wpould be appreciated. I'm in Ontario Canada. Thanks

Mate, If you undo the little white nipple (turn anti clock wise) which is a drain cock, and let it slowly drain you will see water then fuel come out by placing a small cup underneath. Assuming there is water in there.

You can also take the whole assembly off the car and be really gentle so you dont stir the stuff up and do it off the car. In my troopie its easier that way.....

The whole bottom set up comes off to change the filter.

In my car once you let check for water you have to pump the fuel filter primer pump (on top of the filter) to re fill it with fuel.

to change the filter undo the wires for the filter (these are the water sensor wires) turn the filter anti clock wise using a filter tool and drop the filter off. Pull off all the gadgets at the bottom, re fit to a new filter and refit to the primer, pump it all up and you are good to go....

I hope that helps

turkey baster - just slurp it out.
