"With the correct screws pre-coated by supplier with thread locker:"

Shame to see you cutting corners to make the Rubithon.

Ha. Just kidding. That sh1ts tight and guessing you'd be thinking about an incorrect mirror screw the entire trip if you didn't do this.

Carry on.

Small puzzle pieces:

1PZ fan shroud is different than 1HZ (1HZ having one more cylinder ergo the fan shroud doesn’t need to be as deep).

You can see the differences here: 1PZ to left and 1HZ to right.

1HZ shroud:

1PZ is 16711-17030; long discontinued.

Anyway, this one was in rough shape.

IMG_5601.webp

Cleaned it up decently…. Good enough for my uses…

Georg taught me to use some of this stuff on mating surfaces. I trust Georg and we did this previously in the transfer case video we did together years ago for Cruiser Brothers:

IMG_5960.webp

You need these specific bolts to mate a split case to an H55F:

IMG_5979.webp

Enough for today. I got bored and didn’t want to be at work anymore.

More soon!

Then the idler gear set and shaft:

Shaft has two o-rings: make sure to line everything up:

IMG_5992.webp

Then the thrust washer (tab-side down so it’s retained in the housing body):

IMG_5993.webp

Then the two roller bearings and spacer:

IMG_5994.webp

Then the gear set and the rear thrust washer: flat side to gear so tab is facing rear and will engage with valley on the rear case set:

Then o-ring:

Next is the input gear:
