Nice to know what they look like inside. Compared to everything else, I don't think they are that noisy in my truck. Only at a particular speed and RPM do I think, is this the noise everyone talks about. Too many other competing noise makers in my troopy...

Great to see you putting this to the front of your endeavors.
Well your Cruiser has several thick layers of noise deadening sprayed in to it , that made a big difference . The 4:1 gears will always have this faint howl on the highway unfortunately but once in 4 low it makes up for that .

Forgot I had no headlights! Remembered I had a headlight kit:

Unlike the -60P70 that everyone has a boner over, the -60P90 also includes the steel housing the headlight lives in as well as the chrome ring around the headlight.

These, like the -60P70 kit comes with a wiring harness, zip ties and dielectric grease.

This is a 12V setup. So I removed the 12V bulbs and installed some Hella 24V units I have:

The age old conundrum for this kit is they come with 12V relays made in China. No thanks!

Found some good Denso 24V units that are technically for Hino vehicle applications (Toyota’s heavy truck division)… and made in Japan. They are a direct fit.

And they fit perfectly into the relay holders. Exact fits.

I loaded the 6P070s into my BJ74 (after substuting 24v hella bulbs), utilizing the OEM wiring. Mas fina...

I’ve got one of those 81110-60P70s. 🍆
Thanks for the tip on the P90 … if you have rusty/crap buckets, that’s the way to go! And, still pretty cheap at $52 CAD plus shipping (the P70 cost me $23 plus). Do you know if there is a reliable source. in the US or Canada, for the 24v relays?

These are global parts, ergo, global procurement. I’ve provided the part number (Hino/Denso); you should be able to find the on the interwebs.

I want a 24V system to have all 24V bits as needed. Switches, relays, bulbs, etc.
I fitted 24 volt bulbs to my 6P070 lamp kit and I kept the rest of the original wiring in place.
No need to add the additional parts. At least in my case.

I assume you are not running the sub-wiring harness that comes with the kit?
Correct. I utilized the existing factory power circuit. Works just fine. I my case anyway.

It has only been ~8 years or so. I'm not sure about long term performance.

24 volt systems utilize basically 1/2 the current draw that 12 volt systems do. Maybe that's why it works...

This is what I did also on the 6P070 kit. I didn't run the provided sub harness either.

Great kit, thank you for the tip Onur!

Hope I can use it (with the right 24V bulbs/relays you suggested) on my 24V BJ45: could the included steel housings and chrome rings around the headlight fit in the 40-Series Cruisers too? 🤔

PS. One can get the kit at an atractive price right now in Europe...

It's good to see your thread back alive and you working on your truck Onur. Your 70 has become a major piece of your identity and the Phoenix of the 1PZ rising from the ashes of the 3B will be, I suspect, very therapeutic for you. And for the rest of us? We all follow your build and posts like Heyenae, pouring in for even the smallest scrap of shared knowledge. Not only from you, but from the usual suspects in your posts.

Keep it rockin!
