Good deal on the long splined input gear for Splitcase. Had those on my 70 and now on my 42 and love them. Best investment for a truck that will be off-road.

Is that long splined input gear spec’d to match the 10% underdrive high gear ratio that the 4:1 kit will provide also?

Hope to see you on Rubicon, too, if I can make it out there this year.

Good to see you wrenching again.

-Alberto

Yes on the input gear.

No turbo on these IDIs for me, thank you very much.

I'll enjoy secondary roads and enjoy the scenery.
funny thing is a turbo doesnt change that anyways...

If you want a fast 7x, use a direct injected turbo 13BT, 12HT, 1HDT, or 1VDFTE.
Outside the box, a GM LS would be quite satisfying. Especially for the intoxicating V8 exhaust note.

Today I disassembled a new split case to send the case halves to Georg @orangefj45 to have him machine the case for the 4:1 gearset.

Having the extra crawl ratio and the RR Eaton e-locker in the rear will make the Rubicon a breeze along with sliders, front and rear bumpers and a big belly skid plate.

:)

This is the manual split case not the vacuum actuated unit:

When I was prepping my KZJ73 for the Rubicon I unfortunately ran out of time and couldn't install my 4;1 gears in the tcase . The KZJ did great in the rubicon but those gears would have made a world of difference . I had them in my HZJ73 crawler also and loved them .

Gave myself a 4 month buffer, Joe. :)

@cruiserdan I would add a 15BFT to the mix in the 'fast 70 series' category, especially as it is bolt in to the 3B platform. But that is outside the scope of this project.

Are you looking over my shoulder...? I ask because I am trying to write up an overview of shoe horning a 15B-FT into my BJ70.
I concur with you. I feel like my BJ70 really scoots along with the 15B-FT

im interested

Politely, let's focus on @OGBeno's build here. We can talk for days about 15BFTs elsewhere.

I wanna see five cylinders of fury in his 70 engine bay.

With 4.1L of displacement in 4 cylinders and a bottom end so big it’ll make you swoon?

Or fast 40!

They going to be noisy mofos…

Nice to know what they look like inside. Compared to everything else, I don't think they are that noisy in my truck. Only at a particular speed and RPM do I think, is this the noise everyone talks about. Too many other competing noise makers in my troopy...

Great to see you putting this to the front of your endeavors.
