BJ70 heater issue

Slide heater control over to hot and I get very slight change in temp....heat is virtually non-existent. Don't need the heat now but I am very forward thinking. Hot do I get some real heat in this rig?

if the engine's warm you should not be having problems as they do warm up for me in Winnipeg and there aren't many colder places.
Do you get heat from the rear heater?
Things to check:
thermostat; plugged lines; control linkage for heater (against fire wall); odd plumbing from previous owner...

As well as maximBJ70 suggestions,give the heater a core a back flush .
Remove the 2 hoses going into the firewall and put the garden hose in there on full bore.
Do it both ways.

If your engine is reaching its operating temp they work fairly well
