The exhaust hanger under the passenger door (LHD) on my 87 BJ70 has broken leading to the startup and shutdown Clunk-Clunk. The hanger is solid fixed to the truck and welded to the exhaust. The simple fix is to re-weld it. But...
Does the factory setup use any rubber doughnuts or bushings?

I do not have a section of flexible braided pipe. It makes sense to add one at this time. If I'm going to add a flexible section of exhaust, should I just replace the whole she-bang with 2.5" tubing for the future Turbo (have all the parts, just no time)?

For the cruiser photo library, I'll take a photo and add to the thread tomorrow morning when I have a good camera handy (cell-phone pics suck).

Thanks!

They come with rubber hangers all the way along, about 3-4 from memory. They are the same as an 80,60 and some 40 series

A photo of the rusty mess I have under the passenger running board (which was cut off by the PO). It turns out that I do have a rubber block on the hanger... Next time I'll look more closely. The second one is the exhaust hanger at the rear of the truck. I'll contact CruiserDan or Beno for a replacement part number and post the repair which will probably by just a snotty weld for now.
Thanks!

All that is caused by the lack of the flexi joint on the exhaust pipe. There are some diesels that can get by without them but if it was designed to have one ,its a must.
