BJ42 factory air, fan works but not compressor

Hi all,
Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out why the AC compressor won't kick in? The fan works on all speeds.
I found a fuse in the engine bay that is factory and looked OK but replaced it anyway. I assume that there is one main fuse and that must be OK for the fan to work.

Also the windscreen washers work but the wipers do not, are they fused seperately? or do the wipers have a known fault somewhere.

You're probably low on freon in the A/C system. If the freon is low the compressor will not start.
