Ok I searched but no luck. I want to know what everyone's done to have sliders and protection for the can and clearance for it

Ditto.

Also the exhaust on the other side. I don't like the sliders that mount to the body like Man-a-fre's, personally. I've been watching for an awesome frame-mounted design for some time.

lookup/search my nick and slider..

Nothing in the rule book says that the mounts have to go directly to the frame in a straight line.

Had a similar problem with clearance around the cats on my 62. I just went around the offending cat with the tubing. Worked great. Sorry I can't find the pic

But American Psycho may have the better solution

Move the canister under the hood like on the 60+ series.

Obviously. But also things hanging below the slider don't help it "slide"... straight is better, if possible.

But even with my wagon I find my sliders are mostly working the sides of them rather than the bottom. Very rarely have I dragged the frame or the slider mount tubes and even got through Rubicon without a new scratch on a brand new skidplate but the outer tubes of my sliders were another story. Even managed to bend one of them. Would think a 40 would rub the bottom even less than me...

And some people get through without sliders at all... its not only a question of what works for one person, its about what is best. I maintain that the optimal slider is one where the slider is the lowest point.

Exhaust is easy ... The vacum can and sedimenter are in the way and hanging low
