Oh, somebody still remembers it...!? :D

I broke two birfields, got tired of it, sold it. New owner broke engine, transmission and some other stuff and parted it.

RIP

I remember it, checked the buildup thread today.:p I picked up a set of volvo portals yesterday to put on my gen2 4runner. And I am going to lapland trophy for the 3rd year in a row this year. Happily with lots of new modifications each year!

Sad to hear it is parted out, not many toyotas p-u` s left with portals anymore. I know of one now, a trail rig in Norway. Thats it...

Finally wheeling with BJ! We had a Finnish Land Cruiser association meeting and after that went for a drive. BJ worked just nice, exept little bit of temp problems. I think that fan cluch isn´t working properly. Spins too easily when engine is warm/hot. There also might still have been air in the cooling system.

My last minute temporary exhaust pipe ripped off right before muffler at first rock, ride back home was little bit loud... :)

Also finally installed mechanical oil pressure gauge.

Thanks! I know that your country is off road paradise. I´ve already been there four wheeling for 13 times. Next time we are coming there to watch Ladoga trophy in the beginning of June.

I pack food into boxes and fridge and other stuff into boxes too. They have to be water proof since there is a lot of water crossings. Clothes and camping stuff are hanging in the roll cage. Wet sleeping bag wouldn´t be nice... We bring all the food from Finland, but drinks we buy from Russia. ;)

And what comes to diesel, it is available in Carelia area at some places, but often we can make a whole trip with one tank and some jerry cans. Toyotas are economical, you know. :)

Oh yes, a lot like that. When leaving home, everything is packed nicely and rationally and after a couple of days, whole cargo area is a total chaos... :)

I have installed some equipment to BJ. Snorkel, CB, laptop for navigation, jerry can holder and some tuning.

Today i have been packing the truck for Russian trip. Me and my son are leaving this evening for five day trip to watch Ladoga trophy race in Russian Carelia.

And my friends epileptic LJ-73: :D

gus2000tfs: what comes to snorkel, it is made from all the scrap what i found from the carage. Some plastic/rubber (or something) flex tube, aluminum tube and hat is part that belongs to Hilux air intake system. So not hitech in that... But works.

Ladoga pics here: Ëàäîãà-Òðîôè

I´m not coming to Lapland trophy this year. As a matter of fact, it is possible that i won´t be wheeling much at all this year. :frown: We made an offer of a house from year 1915 and if i manage to sell my present house, we buy it. And that means so much work that even i can´t imagine.... So off road may going to be on hold for a while. But IF we get it and when finnished, i will have my own little play ground. ;)
