Hello all

It appears I fell off the wagon again and now have a new 85 bj70 to add to my collection ! lol that makes 5.
All is good to go with the new 70 series except that it needs a windshield and I was wondering if the Dodge Raider will fit the 70 series.
Looks like Dodge copied or Toyota fabed a similar body to Dodge.

Any advice would be great here in Calgary !

Cheers !

Not sure about Dodge Raider glass. However, I HIGHLY recommend Speedy Glass to order OEM Toyota windshield and install it for you. An Edmonton shop did an absolutely fabulous install for me a couple of years ago. Total bill was $478 at the time.

I just did the windshield on my 70 series about 6 months ago, OEM glass and gasket are still available from Mr. Yota, spendy compared to the aftermarket glass, but by far better fit and finish.

If you go aftermarket, definitely get the OEM gasket from ENS, CDan or the local dealership. Do not reuse or go el-cheapo on the gasket unless you like wet floormats:p

Toyota had the windshield in the Vancouver warehouse last time I needed one. Can't remember the exact price, around 350 I think. maybe less.

Part number?

56111‑60220 or 56111‑90K02 for the windshield, pretty sure that the 60220 was the part number. The more expensive one of course:p

I'll have to dig up the gasket number but I think it was 56121‑90K00, 90K04, or 90K05.

You have five 1985 BJ70's? Photos or it never happened...... haha. Are they all black? Nice collection.

I have a 1985 BJ70. It needs a windshield. I took it to a shop to get some rust around the gasket fixed. After they assured me that they had the proper replacement glass, they removed the glass in pieces, only to find out that they cannot get the proper glass. I'm in Wisconsin.....can any one help?

See my above post, one of those part numbers should be good. I just replaced my troopie's windshield about 8 months ago, same glass as the BJ70. It's spendy, but the dealership should be able to still get one.

Aftermarket glass, I haven't seen anybody with luck in the US getting PPG or Safelite.

Also, check with a few of the CDN vendors, (70sguy, Radd) they may have an intact windshield on one of their part out trucks

Any decent shop should be able to remove the glass in one piece and if the gasket isn't terrible reuse it!

I did it myself in the matter of an hour and have never replaced a windshield before! It's a good idea to be able to remove it anyway, because eventually you'll be fighting rust on the windshield frame!

Cost me 100$ for USED JDM glass...
