Hi there, I have an 82 BJ42 that now has a set of ASS seats installed. Just because of that name and the fact that they're built to fit giants, I want to go back stock. I prefer the 1/3-2/3 bench set-up though. I have a nice set of those, and a set of 2 regular seats.
Is it possible to fit the 1/3- 2/3 in that '82 or is the mounting area different, are different brackets needed?

Thanks!

If you have the correct seats it's actually pretty easy. In the US we only got bucket seats and finding the longer passenger seat will not be easy. Has to come from 79+.

According Toyota EPC they used the similar brackets.

I currently have a long passenger seat sitting in my 79. The outside legs front and back use the same bolt holes as the bucket seat. Front inside lines up with a hole in the center channel but doesn't have a fixed nut. Back center needs a hole and fixed nut added. It fits fine with standard driver's bucket seat.

jolly swell. I just sold my set of regular seats! The bench set-up is better in my eyes, especially when 4x4-ing with the girlfriend.
