It's in Irondale that's not out of the way if you'll drive to Trussvegas. If you want out of the way Fat Man's BBQ on 231 in Cropwell is also awesome.

Point missed.

Why would I drive to Irondale to eat at a place that's all over the city, especially if I'm already in Trussville eating?!
I'll drive to trussville for good food...
I won;t drive to Golden Rule... in any location. But it's all over. I'd eat there, if I was there.

So, question is, the other places, they worth driving 30 minutes to?

The point wasn't missed that's was the reason for the specification. I think the other Golden Rule's are crap.

Answering your second question I say yes with the exception of the Eagle's Nest as I've never been there but any place that has ox tails on the menu occasionally can't be bad.

ahhh gotchya. i'll say, the helena location's bbq nachos are on time though!

If you find a place that cooks chitterlings I'll go with you to attempt them.

For a potential club meeting Black Market would be good an added bonus is that Wednesday night is Well Hell.

Chitlin Festival in Clio

Which is down the road from my moms house...

Chitlins smeel like shunt when being cooked... wonder why... ain't touching them.... this ain't "man vs food"

Well poop.

Dang, haven't heard of half those places! The ones I've heard, I've eaten at. Not a fan of Surin's sushi, haven't tried thier Thai though.

There's an Asian grocery store with a restaurant in it... it was great! Their rice stick is THE BOMB.

Red Pearl? Over on W. Valley? It is good.

The Dos Hermanos taco truck (Not Gus Fring's Los Pollos Hermanos) over on W. Valley is friggin spectacular. Cash only, lunch Tues - Fri. We go there periodically and sit on the tailgate of the cruiser and eat.

Sammy' Sandwich Shop on Airport Hwy. Got a huge pita called the "Camel Rider". Go during daylight hours only.
I think they were noted as having one of the best hamburgers in town.

It sure didn't take long to fill up two pages of FOOD PORN in this crowd.
For real pizza and Italian, gotta get over to Nino's in Pelham.

Let's go!

I thought you were talking about Surin. Sad to hear that about Taste of Thailand, we haven't been in years but it used to be the best - food and service.
My experience as well...
I thought it was all family run..

Joe's Italian

Check out Saw's Soul Kitchen in Avondale. It is super. I ate there last time I was in Bham and they have great food. It is a little hole in the wall place but excellent food.

^^^^^

Hole in the wall places are usually where you will find the best eats. Look past the counter into the kitchen for the oldest cooks in town. When you see them, order one of everything on the menu.
