Does anyone in the valley carry Birfields besides Toyota? Mine was taken apart and one axle is bad. I can order one but would like to install it this weekend.

Thanks

Howdy! I have some good used spares. I'd have to measure them out to see if they are early or late for a 40/55/60 series. I may have a friend in Peoria with a good spare for an 80. What are you working on? John

I'm working on a 80 series. I might order some at checkers that I will be here tomorrow but their GCK and I've never heard of them. I looked at their website and parts are manufactured in China. Has anyone used or heard of them? Toyota wants over $650 for one and I can order some from man-a-free but it won't arrive till next week.

That would be AWESOME!!

I can get you one from Camelback Toyota new overnight for $497.00 if you cannot find anything locally. The only problem is it is still $$ and wont be able to overnight it until Monday and will receive it on Tuesday.

I'd avoid the Chinese built ones IMHO. Good luck whatever way you decide!

Thank you Murf. I'll let you know. If I have to wait till next weekend, then I'll probably order from man-a-free (made in Japan). I called Slee today and he didn't know where the light duty birf he carries was manufactured. It's a little less expensive through Slee but it might be made in China.

I made a couple of calls and came up empty. Call Kurt @ Cruiser Outfitters Not local, but he may have them available?

How much did Checkers want for one?

Kurt is out of the office till Monday.. Checker wants $111 each but I have a friend that works there and can get them for $88. Not a bad price. I might buy them and see how they are. What do you think about them for the price?

Tough to beat that price. Might check NAPA too. NAPA = good parts usually.

They are sure it's correct for an '80? If so the only ones that I have heard of for less were the ebay ones years ago, a few ran those with good results. If you can return it, bring it by and I will have a look for you, will be at the shop in the AM.

I called Napa and Bap and they didn't have any. They both didn't even know what I was talking about.

Your best bet is to call it a CV joint, most parts drones don't know what a birf is. BAP can't get them, have asked many times.
