Hey guys, just picked up a new Tesla Frame to build. Anyone around here savy with these things? It has forks, head set, bars/stem, rear shock, and seat post. I was a hardcore rider for years.... and once upon a time I knew what was cosidered the best... but I suppose things have changed in recent years. Any recomendations? Paying for the best dosn't bother me, it's always cheaper in the long run. So far I'm thinking some Magura Brakes, maybe a Raceface Crank.... any other recomendations? I have a Rohloff hub on my old bike, I am underwhelmed with the efficiency of it.... so I'll be going back to derailers... Shimano scares me.

I went SRAM about a year ago and haven't looked back. I'm not anti-Shimano or anything, I just like the way that the SRAM stuff functions. Race Face cranks are nice, but there are also a lot of other options too—Truvativ, Shimano (still tough to beat the shifting performance of Shimano rings), etc.

Curious to see what you think of the Bionicon. Proprietary suspension stuff always scares me a little bit, but I've heard a few folks say that they've been suitably impressed by the adaptability of their system.

I would look at Hope and Formula brakes. I just installed Formula "The Ones" on my Turner RFX and I love them.

As for drivetrain, I don't think that you can go wrong with Shimano..... I would get XT stuff and you will be set. I am running almost all XTR on my 3 bikes and I built my dad a bike with SLX and no problems with any of them.
