Seeking user expertise pairing springs with 5160 rear shocks. Vehicle is stock with max 250lbs gear in rear on occasional trips. No towing. Planning on running 6112’s up front on 3rd perch (1.8”). Considering the following rear springs-Bilstein standard load, OME 2720, or Icon dual rate springs. Leaning towards the Icons but appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

OME 2721 is the same spring rate with about 3/4 to 1" extra lift. With your fronts on the 3rd perch 1.8". I would not want the tail down stance of the 2720 spring.

Thanks that’s great info! I was leaning more towards the dual rate Icon springs at 1.75” but the OME springs also gave my attention. How would the OME 2721s compare to the Bilstein standard load? I also have no issue going to clip 2 at 1.4” lift. Comfort is the top priority. Thanks

I did the full Bilstein kit with 3rd clip front and standard rear Bilstein springs

With 3rd row removed it was perfect when empty

BUT…. I have since installed an ARB drawer system, some tools, and fridge (maybe 200lbs, or a little less) and the rear sagged over an inch and was a little wallowly

I Installed the OME 2721s and it’s back to the same height as it was before and rides excellent

Thanks this is helpful! I just finished reading the 56 page 6112/5160 install page I guess I should’ve posted this question there. Maybe the OME 2721s are similar to the ICON dual rates. I have a 3rd row so I’m a bit concerned when loaded with gear 250lbs on the std Bilstein springs. I’ve read the ICONs are like butter and adjust well with load.

Yes, but icons reputation is basically trash in my opinion

Lots of very leaky expensive shocks and a decent amount of cracking wheels

They will never see a dollar from me

I haven’t read anything about the springs being garbage but then I guess if they have QC issues on other materials then it’s probably safe to assume. I’ll rethink that.
