Greetings all - a few friends and members of the Mid-Atlantic Overland group are doing a private small group training session with Bill Burke and looking to fill the last spot.

We've got a 2 Jeeps, an LR3, a 4R, an 80-series and my 100 and would love to have another 100 brother join in the fun!

The training is Thur-Fri March 20-21st located at a private facility outside Blacksburg, VA (Pembroke, VA). The cost is $285/truck for both days. The guy who is organizing the group did a 3 day training class with Bill a few years back and raves about the experience. Bill is tailoring the trip to our wants right now, with a focus being on general off-road driving technique and winching and recovery.

Here's some info on Bill and his classes: http://bb4wa.com/
and https://www.facebook.com/4WheelingAmerica

I've never done any formal training so am really looking forward to this. Most of the group is coming from the Baltimore/DC area. I'm a bit further north. We are camping on the property Wed and Thur night. Class is Thursday and Friday. Tentative plan is to camp somewhere in the George Washington National Forest on Friday night, then explore the forest meandering north and camping again Saturday night before heading home Sunday.

This is a pretty big discount over Bill's normal 2 day class offerings, and the cost is per truck. So you can bring a friend and split the cost with them, bring a family member or two, the dog, whatever. The focus is on the training, but should be a fun long weekend.

Shoot me a message and let me know if you might be interested. There's one spot left.

I've been wheeling since 2008. I have never done any formal training, I have learned a lot from the past years on the trails, but I would enjoy some professional training.

Count me in :)

Guys - just got this message from the organizer. I know it's last minute, but in case anyone can make it see below:

Bill Burke Training-Thursday/Friday, just west of Blacksburg, VA

Everyone, we have secured a training with Bill Burke (http://bb4wa.com) for 7 vehicles (you can bring friends in your own truck) for this Thursday and Friday. The training cost is $285 per truck (a rate that is normally $495). As of this morning, 2 of the 7 slots for the training came open due to work commitments and an illness. I'm throwing it out there to see if any folks want to make the last minute trip (leaving on Wednesday afternoon) for training all day Thursday & Friday.

If you're interested, please respond to this post, message me or email me (jason.grogg@gmail.com).

Thanks, Jason

Wish I was closer because I would down for it. @BillBurke TN would love for you to wheel down here

Any feedback on how this went? Successful enough to do again in the future?

I just missed this, would have gone if I saw it earlier....

In short, it was awesome!!! Had lots of fun, learned a ton and wished it were two days longer. I'm going to post a bit of a write-up once I get some photos. I was busy trying to soak in as much as possible and only grabbed a few iphone photos. Luckily one of the guys had a nice camera and was snapping regularly during the training, so once i get those photos I'll write something up
