I'm sorry to say that Bill Brutsman passed away this afternoon at 4:55. Rene is heartbroken.

As soon as I know more details about funeral arrangements I will post them up here.

I just don’t have the words

Man I'm sorry hear that. He doesn't know it but he is a big reason I got back into Toyota 4x4s, specifically Land Cruisers. I would drive by his house about everyday looking at his 96 black 80 series. He was outside one day and I just stopped by to ask about it and 80s in general. He easily spent one and a half hours talking to me about it and everything else he was into, including that hotrod and his camp trailer. What a very talented and interesting guy. R.I.P. Bill...

Just got back in town and had lunch with Rene and their children. They are holding up pretty well but have never done any funeral planning before so I am pitching in on that.

The funeral will be this Friday morning July 13th at

Overland Park Baptist Temple
11648 Antioch Rd
Overland Park, KS 66210

I will be helping his son get the Hot Rod and Tear Drop camping trailer over to the church parking lot around 8 - 8:30.

Rene is having his Hot Rod friend's show up around 8:45 - 9 AM for informal visitation and would like TAC/TLCA people to come about 9:15.

Funeral service is at 10 AM and probably pot luck luncheon to follow but I need to verify seating capacity for the gym/cafeteria.

We may have Price Chopper or Hy Vee cater main dishes depending on crowd estimates so let me know here and please pass my cell number on to those you know aren't on here much.

If anyone has time this week to help get the AC working in Rene's Land Cruiser that would be fabulous. I have my hands full trying to buy a new house for my fiancée and I to live in and helping with the funeral arrangements. Stockish 96 with no need for dryer relocate but unknown AC problems.

So sorry to hear about Bill. He was one of the nicest people you could meet. I’m out of town on vacation otherwise I would be there Friday. Rest In Peace Bill.

It was an amazing service. Will post up some pics later.

Very nice service and the amount of people that came to the services this morning told you everything you need to know about Bill. Had a solid hour and a half of visiting with his friends outside at the car show/reception His kids spoke at the funeral, and were really able to describe the essence of him. Really was an amazing person, an inspiration to us all. Lived life to the fullest.... probably three times more stories than any human I’ve ever met. I did not realize that Bill was the same age as my father. Just way too soon.
