Hi everyone, ran into a big problem while trying to fit Harrop / Eaton Elockers front and rear to my BJ71 SWB 24V Landcruiser. The front diff all OK Elocker fitted but the rear diff they had never seen before. It has a rear inspection plate on the diff housing and axle retaining circlips in the diff center, and not at the outside axle bearings. Also this diff is standard but looks very heavy duty but is not a LSD
Harrop / Eaton Elockers have never seen this before and do not make an Elocker for this kind of differential.
Is there anyone out there that can shed some light on this for me please.

Update
Found out through more research today that this rear diff is a 9.5" semi floating 12 bolt standard Toyota differential. (apparently you can tell externally if the axles finishes flush with the wheels and do not have a hub) ARB make an airlocker to suit the semi floating design.
ARB SKU ARBRD153.
I would have preferred an electrically activated locker but beggars cant be choosers.
I may look at what is involved cost wise to see if it is worth converting the rear diff housing and center to a fully floating type.
Any suggestions comments are very welcome.

That was my first guess. You're in Australia? Land of the 70 series? Just find a complete full float rear axle assembly out of a wrecker. Theyre all leaf spring rear so you can get one from any year and any model 70 series . Do it right and you could end up with disc brakes back there too.

Spot on Mate, Thankyou. I reckon I get one out of Melbourne or Sydney for under a $1000 dollars. Absolutely worth doing as you suggested for the strength of the full floater and disc brakes. I will update on my progress. Cheers, Geoff.

X2, sounds like you have a standard semi-float and should have no problem finding a full-float.
