Thanks for the info.... yeah, we have had 45" of snow in the last couple of weeks. Plus, I normally take our rig to our cabin in the PA mountains (hills for you boys out west) and have to go up a very steep and long lane.

Any other thoughts on these? I have been garnering some info from the 80 guys on these, as they also have a KM2 thread running.

I have driven my KM2's in light snow (3" or so) in the highlands of Lesotho (small neigbouring country known around here as the Mountain Kingdom) and they were perfectly fine.

Probably does not compare with what you have to contend with though;)

Did great in the snow today. We went up Mt. Lemmon today (most of the way) though it was not planned. I was in shorts so I only took a shot in some light stuff. Didn't want to get out into the deep stuff and freeze my leg hairs. :D

Looks like the tread pattern digs in OK.

I'm looking at the BFG KM2 or the cooper stt's. Any experience from anyone that has run both? The KM2's are about $70/tire more than the Cooper STT.

Chris

Not familiar with the Coopers. $70 for me is a no-brainer. The reputation of BFG and the BFG KM2 is stellar and for a reason. Not everyone likes every brand or model tire however there's a reason BFG is #1 in the sales arena.

I hear ya, but $350 more is a lot...are they worth that...not sure yet. I'd real world examples from anyone that's run both ideally, but that's probably asking a lot.

I just look at tires and costs a bit differently. $350 over the course of 40-50K miles (or a few years) seems like pocket change to me. Not initially...please don't misread. I value tires as a critical choice for all my vehicles. Safety, performance, reputation and then price vs looks.

A friend of mine had STTs on his FJC and he likes them, pretty quite, good tread life, good all around mud tire..........all that said his next set of tires will be KM2s:hmm:
