Anyone running these on your mini? Got any reviews? I saw them down at Costco and my BFG ATs are about worn out. I think they look pretty good, but what do you know?

Are you planning on Wheeling with these tire and limited street driving. That is what they are made for not a DD.

Cost Co Has Krawlers??? Sweet.. Next thing you know you will be able to buy Atlas 2's at wall mart..

I think they are designed for a Trail only Rig.. They probably wear quickly on the street

I drive my mini probably 75% on dirt/ 25% on highway. After reading some more about the Krawlers, I'm guessing I'll probably go with BFG ATs again or maybe MTs.........hard to decide. Anything else?

Seems kind of an odd jump to me. Kind of at totally opposite ends of the spectrum if you know what I mean. Trying to choose between the AT and Krawlers. The MT's are good tires though and will last 30,000 miles. Also pricing on the Krawlers will make you heart drop. Those things are some serious $$$.

I have Krawlers, I got mine at .... SEARS.....

They are great. But, they are loud, and like stated, I would belive life will be short.. but with a company truck, I dont have to worry about driving them away. So far I have had them for 3 months..
cant complain..(except the noise) Price... $300 each. :flipoff2:

Mook, I'm looking for something I can run year-round, instead of swapping all the time. While the MT's are good tires, I've seen them cup badly, however the longevity and versatility of the AT's is what keeps my attention at the current time. The AT's are a great all around tire IMO, and at $130 apiece are a whole bunch more tolerable than the Krawlers at $320+ each. If only MT's/MTR's lasted as long as AT's..........I'd get them in a heartbeat.

edit: Is BFG even making MTR's still???? They don't show them on their website.

If you are looking for a good all around tire have you looked at the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. I have these on my 80 series and like them much better than the BFG AT. They seem to shed mud better than the BFG and still provide a great highway ride. I can not attest to sidewall strength though as I do not do much rockcrawling in the 80. Just a thought.

You're right, guess I shouldn't try to think too much when I'm really tired.......MTR's are Goodyears. :o

Thanks for the help, guys........

I'd also take a look at the Yokohama Geolandar MT or MT+. I had a set of the MTs and was really pleased with them, great grip off road, aggressive looks, nice ride on the road and suprisingly quiet for as aggressive as they are. Just a thought. Luke

Dang, those Geolanders look nice!! Thanks for the help.

I've been very pleased with my Pro comp X Terrains. They seem to be holding up very well on my FJ80. Traction is awsome, noise is tolerable. Price was right also mine cost 720 for four mounted and balanced.

The Krawlers came in two compounds, Red Dot for competition - very soft, and Blue Dot which I believe is D.O.T. approved and harder compound. A couple of folks have them on 80's, like Kumar (http://www.colorado4x4.net/Friends/Kumar/Krawler_Build_Up/)

FWIW...I have an lx450 running these and with the windows rolled up...very little noise ... VERY tollerable, don't even have to crank the radio up. But that's the extra lexus sound insulation.

as far as balance, they balanced perfectly (in cold weather they DO flat spot, but once worked out, they go back to normal ... I can easily do 90 mph (which I only did a few times on accident).

New these hae 24/32 tread. I measured them last week and they have 22/32 on the worst tire. That is two trips from Kansas City to Silverton, at least 3 trips from kansas city to Dener, and of course a ton of city driving (when I was not traveling for a living). I would venture to guess they have between 7-12k miles on them. I would say that is GREAT tire wear. Even my trxus 35" tires wore excellently when I had them, I think the geometry/weight distro of an 80 is nice on tires.
