I don't have an 80, and I've never had KO2s—but I picked Falkens over them because they checked all the boxes for me:
  • E-rated
  • Mileage warranty (55k)
  • Snowflake rating
I bought 5 Falkens for the cost of 4 BFGs if price is a consideration. Road noise is impressively quiet compared to my buddy's KO2s.

I've got two trucks with Dura Tracs (my 80 and F350) and they are excellent in snow and ice. As a matter of fact, I thought they had no equal outside of a dedicated ice and snow winter only tire. I just put KO2's on my 100 because I couldn't get DT's that day, and I will say that they are amazing in snow and on icy roads. Head to head, I see no difference and no weaknesses. This is only rating the two with very good tread.

I've only owned BFG KO ATs on my Land Cruisers (with exception of one set of Coopers on the 70 series...). I never noticed any issues with the original KOs on snow and ice but others complained about them. The KO2s are supposed to be much improved on snow and ice. This is the second winter with this set of KO2s and they have performed incredibly well. Much improved over the original KOs. They are 16 months old and have 35,000 miles on them.

I'm getting ready to replace a set of original KOs on my 92. They have 55,000 on them and are 8+ years old. They have probably 50% wear left but are starting to dry out from age.
