So im still needing some additional first hand info on the bfg at tread. I personally had a dodge 2500 quad cab with the older bfg at and they slung sb2 gravel like a flame thrower. But that was a 32.8 inch tire and a heavy quad cab diesel.

Can anyone with a hundred series and oem size bfg ko2 tires
comment on the gravel slingin?

Thanks - posted here as this is specific to the 100 series.

love mine. Gravel slinging is down from the prior gen BFG's. I really like em.

Anybody else with factory sized bfg ko2 tires that can comment on gravel sticking berween the treads?

Thanks to those who responded.

Asking if an A/T will sling gravel? Almost any aggressive A/T I've run does, that's the nature of the beast.

That being said I have run BFG ATs on almost all my vehicles. The KO2s seem to hold less gravel than my KOs did. This is my second set of KO2s and unfortunately I am not pleased... I've never had any issues with my KOs, but these KO2s are giving me hell. I can't get them balanced, and after only 5000 miles I am already starting to see cracking as mentioned here: BFG KO2 Cracking at 10k

I would still recommend them, just make sure you get a good shop to cover them. BFG seems to be warranting replacement for all the cracking cases, so it's not terribly concerning. Hopefully you won't have any issues if you go with them. They have been having compounding issues, hopefully which they've fixed. Unfortunalty ive seen this decline in quality from several tire manufacturers.

I have 285 ko2 on different Toyota, they don't throw a ton of gravel in my opinion. Rocks will get stuck in closed tread tires though.

isn't the tread on the KO2 exactly the same as the KO? i thought all they changed was the sidewall, so shouldn't they be slingin' the same amount?

IMO, if you are driving on mostly gravel to a point of worrying about slinging it, you probably don't need AT tires o_O. Any tire works fine on a gravel maintained road. KO2's on dirt, granite, etc, are awesome. They definitely have a smoother ride on gravel and on mine, I don't notice any slinging really. Then again, i'm not really looking. And if someone is close enough behind me, that's their problem.

KO2 has a softer rubber compound, which has shown its flaws in a couple bad batches.

I had these on my 4R and did not like them and would not buy them again. Yes, they hold rocks for miles and sling shot them. My General Grabbers do too, but it doesn't seem to happen as often.

I drive up to my barn almost every day and pick up rocks sometimes, but the KO2s did it consistently. This is actually not what I had an issue with and I had forgotten about it until I saw this thread.

But the other guys posting are right: all ATs will do it. Just have to decide if running them is worth it if it's that big an issue.
