People find that the listed diameter is not the same as inflated, unweighted, measurement. So I would assume the question was how do they measure mounted but not under the vehicle, like the spare for example. Are you asking what they measure for height with the weight of the jeep?
I just got back from Overland Expo East and got to talk to the marketing lead for AT tires for BFG. Shared with him my, and probably many others wish for a true 34" 11.5" wide KO2 tire and asked what the chances were. He said, and I quote "I'll give you the answer, but you won't like it".
What he shared, and someone may be able to fill in the technical details, is that every world market has different specs that tires must adhere to. Described is at a box of specs. BFG sells in as many markets as they can, so they basically lay out those specs and where they all intersect, those are the tires they will manufacture and sell across all of those markets. Unfortunately a true 34" 11.5" AT tire (285/75/17) doesn't fit some markets specs so we will never see one from BFG.
That said, I'm really happy with this 34-10.5 KO2, but do think I'll make the move to a 34" next time around. Always hoped BFG would come out with one... but now I know it will never happen.
