Are you asking what they measure for height with the weight of the jeep?
People find that the listed diameter is not the same as inflated, unweighted, measurement. So I would assume the question was how do they measure mounted but not under the vehicle, like the spare for example.
I'm curious as this is about the maximum I could get under my Land Rover without cutting the body and fenders.

Bjowet recently got a similar spec tire for the LC 200 and it measured only 33.5 or 33.7.

I prefer how the previous generation had a thick rim protector as does the current Goodyear Duratrac. I suppose there must be a good design reason for it not being on the KO2.

When we stop having tornadoes within 10 miles of my house, I'll go out and measure everything. I will measure the circumference of the spare and do the math to calculate the diameter.

So did these work fine with the Rock Warriors?

Here is a picture of these tires. I have the OME lift and Upper Control Arms. The wheels are the TRD Rock Warrior 17" five lug 5x150.

I just got back from Overland Expo East and got to talk to the marketing lead for AT tires for BFG. Shared with him my, and probably many others wish for a true 34" 11.5" wide KO2 tire and asked what the chances were. He said, and I quote "I'll give you the answer, but you won't like it".

What he shared, and someone may be able to fill in the technical details, is that every world market has different specs that tires must adhere to. Described is at a box of specs. BFG sells in as many markets as they can, so they basically lay out those specs and where they all intersect, those are the tires they will manufacture and sell across all of those markets. Unfortunately a true 34" 11.5" AT tire (285/75/17) doesn't fit some markets specs so we will never see one from BFG.

That said, I'm really happy with this 34-10.5 KO2, but do think I'll make the move to a 34" next time around. Always hoped BFG would come out with one... but now I know it will never happen.

So ... does the LT285/75R17 121/118Q E BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 not qualify? (BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2)

Specs say it is 33.9 inches.

I don't know... that's an MT. Not sure why they can make an MT and not an AT that size if it truly measures that height?

That's my question, too. If "specs" were really the issue, then the same size should be available in both AT and MT.

One thing I have noticed is that most off-road race teams using BFG tires (see pics of Dakar, Baja 1000, etc.) used to use the BFG AT tires back in the day, but now almost exclusively are using the MT. Perhaps the demand from the racing community for the MT justifies making that tire, and the lack of demand from that same community for the AT tire does not justify making the AT in that size - simple lack of demand rather than some mysterious "spec" issue. :meh:

HTH

The guy didn't strike me a a "blow smoke up your ass" kind of guy... but I would too. I'm putting my 200 out to pasture for daily driving duties soon so next tire may be that MT... but that's a long way off and I'll change my mind 10 times between now and then I'm sure.
